More than a dozen people hold vigil in Columbia for spa employees that died during Atlanta shooting spree
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
More than a dozen people gathered in front of Columbia's city hall Friday evening.
It was to honor the spa employees killed during a shooting spree in Atlanta on Tuesday.
Demonstrators observed eight minutes of silence, one minute for each victim killed.
Police released the names of victims today.
Six of the women killed were of Asian descent, four of them were Korean-Americans.
Police say they are looking into any possible link that the crime could have been motivated by hate whether against Asians, women, or immigrants.
However, at this time, federal investigators say they have not uncovered enough evidence to rule the attacks a hate crime.
The shooter reportedly told police the crime was not racially motivated.
