Death reported in Boone County crash with snowplow; roadway back open

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

At least one person is dead after a crash involving a snowplow near Sturgeon.

The crash happened on Old 63 near Breedlove Drive, south of Sturgeon in northern Boone County. Few details were immediately available, but Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Chief Gale Blomenkamp said a death has been confirmed.

Boone County emergency dispatchers said in a public alert that the road was closed at about 4:30 p.m. Information on other injuries was not available.

Just after 7:30 p.m., Boone County Joint communication reported Old Hwy 63 near Breedlove Dr is back open.
