Aldred swearing-in makes Boone County Commission fully Democratic

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

New Southern District Boone County Commissioner Justin Aldred was sworn in Thursday, meaning all three commission seats are under Democratic control.

Aldred prevailed in November's election over incumbent Fred Parry, the commission's lone Republican, by about 2,500 votes. Aldred's victory means a Democrat sits in every county elected office, not counting the 13th Circuit judges who are also elected by Callaway County voters.

Northern District Commissioner Janet Thompson and Public Administrator Sonja Boone are set to be sworn in Friday after winning re-election in November.
