Boone County deputies investigate shooting north of Columbia

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County sheriff's deputies investigated a shooting Monday afternoon just north of Columbia.

Crews blocked off Mauller Road around 2:36 p.m. for a law enforcement situation.

Spokesman for the sheriff's department, Sgt. Brian Leer, said in an email deputies located a person who was believed to be shot.

Leer added the incident was under investigation.

An ABC 17 News crew said Boone County sheriff's deputies and state troopers blocked off Mauller from Highway VV to N. Wade School Road.

Deputies were seen walking around the area with a K9 unit.

It's unknown if any people were arrested in connection with the shooting.
