Medical issue leads to crash on edge of Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was taken to a Columbia hospital after a medical problem led to a crash Tuesday.

First responders were sent to the crash on Rolling Hills Road near Route WW on the eastern edge of Columbia a little after 11 a.m.

Gale Blomenkamp, assistant chief with the Boone County Fire Protection District, said the one-vehicle crash happened when the driver had a medical problem and the vehicle ended up in the median.

Medics began CPR on the driver, who was sent to University of Missouri Hospital, he said.
