COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Boone County Fire Protection Department said no injuries were reported after a single-vehicle crash on Route E Monday afternoon.

The fire protection district tweeted that state troopers and MoDOT responded to the crash.

BCFPD Chief Scott Olsen said the driver had a coughing fit and tried to pull off the road, then overcorrected and crashed into the guardrail. Olsen added there was also a passenger inside the car.

A portion of the guardrail had to be cut because it was sticking out into the road.
