Audrain County Sheriff’s Office: Woman ‘unintentionally’ shot in home

VANDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Audrain County Sheriff’s Office announced in a Facebook post that a woman on Monday was shot unintentionally in a home on East Bland Street in Vandalia

The Sheriff’s Office says deputies found a 25-year-old woman with a gunshot wound in her chest. She was flown to University Hospital in Columbia and is believed to be in stable condition. She was stable at the scene and gave a statement to deputies, according to the post.

The post stated one or more people in the house were handling a loaded gun and it was discharged unintentionally.

The name of the victim was not released, nor was the name of the person or people handling the gun.
