Two Ashland streets to become one-way roads, intersection becomes all-way stop

ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

Changes to some Ashland roads will occur on Friday, according to two Wednesday press releases from the city.

The 100-200 blocks of Burnam Avenue and the 100 block of South College Street will become one-way streets, the release says. South College Street will have southbound traffic and Burnam Avenue will take westbound traffic, the release says.

Those changes are occurring after a traffic study indicated the existing roads were not wide enough for two-way traffic, according to the release.

In addition, the intersection of East Liberty Lane and Allegiance Avenue will be turned into an all-way stop, the release says. The city is converting the intersection into an all-way stop because of safety concerns, the release says.

Both changes will occur at 11 a.m. Friday, the releases say.

Warning and traffic signage has been placed in the area and Ashland Police Department staff will be monitoring traffic conditions, according to the release.
