City of Ashland votes down annexation land

ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

The city of Ashland voted down a request to annex land planned to be used for a housing facility for pregnant women.

The organization wanted the annexation of 15.15 acres located off East Log Providence Road on East Hayes Road for multifamily housing.

The board of alderman voted 4 to 2 Tuesday against the request.

The Ashland city administrator says members likely voted against the move over traffic concerns and other points of access.

This is with the neighboring Lakeside Ashland development.
