Lawsuit filed to put Lakeside Ashland project on hold
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Two people have filed a lawsuit against the City of Ashland, the city administrator and the board of adjustment to stop an entertainment development.
The residents say the city's board of aldermen approved a permit for Lakeside Ashland despite their request to put it on hold.
The duo wants the board to discuss the project before it moves forward.
The duo own property around the proposed settlement and how they would get in and out of their property would be the same one as the business.
The business asked for variances that would allow the proposed amphitheater to be built bigger than previously permitted and exempt portions of the parking and driveway surfaces to be dust-free. The board of aldermen approved a conditional permit for the project.
'Lakeside Ashland' will be located in the 5900 block of east Log Providence road just west of Highway 63 near the Columbia Airport.
The plans include a nature area, outdoor movie theater and golf.
ABC 17 News has asked for comment from the city and is waiting to hear back.
