Southern Boone soccer coach on leave amid investigation
ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)
Southern Boone School District soccer coach Chris Miller was placed on paid administrative leave Feb. 17 amid an ongoing investigation, the school's top officials said Tuesday.
Southern Boone Superintendent Chris Felmlee said the allegations were brought up Feb. 14. He said it's district policy to place personnel on leave during such investigations.
Felmlee would not say what allegations were levied against Miller but said he hopes the matter is resolved soon.
"We hope to come to a resolution as soon as possible," Felmlee said.
Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education records show Miller is certified to teach English and journalism to grades 7-12.
Southern Boone High School teacher and assistant soccer coach Wade Vandelicht took over as the interim head coach for Miller. Felmlee said a long-term substitute teacher for the district is taking over Miller's teaching duties.
The boys' Southern Boone soccer team won its district from 2010-2019. The team finished fourth in the state last year.
