Southern Boone firefighters put out chimney fire on Monday

Southern Boone County fire crews respond to a home off East Cedar Hills Road in Boone County for a fire that started in the chimney on Monday, March 2.

ASHLAND, Mo. (KMIZ)

Southern Boone County firefighters responded to a home near Ashland on Monday for a chimney fire. Crews said the fire started around 4:40 p.m.

No injuries were reported in the fire that broke out in the 7700 block of East Cedar Hills Road. Firefighters were able to contain it in about 10 minutes.

Fire protection district public information officer Colin Wright said damage to the home was minimal. Investigators are looking into what caused it.
