California man arrested after allegedly assaulting flight attendants after takeoff

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — Federal authorities have announced the arrest of a Northern California man they say assaulted Frontier Airlines flight attendants after takeoff. The U.S. Department of Justice said in a news release Thursday that the Sept. 9 San Francisco-bound flight out of Santa Ana was forced to divert to another airport. The passenger allegedly shouted obscenities at flight attendants and attempted to choke a flight attendant. According to an affidavit, he kicked another attendant in the leg and said he was going to kill everybody on the plane. Other passengers helped restrain the man.
