Multiple injuries reported after shooting near Virginia Commonwealth campus in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Authorities in Virginia’s capital say multiple people have been injured in a shooting near Virginia Commonwealth University following a high school graduation ceremony. City police spokeswoman Tracy Walker says there is no longer an active threat to the community. Richmond Public Schools said in a message on its website that the shooting took place in Monroe Park, which is downtown near the college campus. It says it happened after a graduation ceremony for Huguenot High School. It wasn’t immediately clear what led to the shooting or whether students were among the injured.
