CBS News hires Lisa Ling after CNN documentary series was canceled

NEW YORK (AP) — CBS News says it is hiring veteran journalist Lisa Ling as a Los Angeles-based reporter starting later this summer. Ling spent the past eight years producing and reporting the immersive documentary series ‘This is Life’ for CNN before it ended in a cost-cutting move. She’s also hosted ‘National Geographic Ultimate Explorer,’ did a show for Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network and spent three years as a panelist on ‘The View.’ CBS News President Neeraj Khemlani says he admires Ling’s authentic and revealing interviews. She’s the latest in a string of hires Khemlani has made over the past two years, including Robert Costa and Cecilia Vega.
