LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) — A Pakistani court is extending a pause in the effort to arrest former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a graft case. Thursday’s order by the Lahore High Court was another reprieve for the 70-year-old former premier, who is now the country’s opposition leader. The decision also eased tensions in the country’s cultural capital, where round-the-clock violent clashes erupted this week when officers tried to arrest Khan for failing to appear before a court in the capital. Under the latest court order, Khan cannot be arrested until Friday. However, police and paramilitary rangers deployed for Khan’s arrest have not been withdrawn.
