7 hurt as Grand Canyon tour helicopter makes hard landing
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Seven people have been injured in the hard landing of a Grand Canyon tour helicopter at a Las Vegas-area airport. Some officials characterized the episode Tuesday afternoon at Boulder City Municipal Airport as a “hard landing,” while others called it a crash. There were no reports of a fire. Officials say the pilot and six passengers were taken to hospitals in Las Vegas and suburban Henderson for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening. Investigators identified the aircraft operator as Las Vegas-based Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopter air tours. The company didn’t immediately respond Wednesday to a telephone message.
