Palestinian officials say house fire in Gaza Strip kills 21

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Palestinian authorities say at least 21 people were killed in a house fire in northern Gaza Strip. The fire broke out Thursday evening on the third floor of a three-story building in the crowded Jabaliya refugee camp. The Civil Defense in Gaza, which is run by the Palestinian militant Hamas group, attributed the cause of fire to gasoline that was stored at the building. It was not immediately clear how the gasoline ignited. Officials said an investigation was underway. Flames were seen spewing out of the windows of the burning floor as hundreds of people gathered outside on the street, waiting for fire trucks and ambulances.
