DUMFRIES, Va. (AP) — One of three Democratic congresswomen in Virginia has survived and a second has declared victory after facing tough reelection bids Tuesday in a midterm election season where the GOP is seeking to regain control of the House of Representatives. Democrat Abigail Spanberger has won reelection over Republican Yesli Vega in a seat the GOP had aggressively fought to flip. Spanberger became one of the GOP’s top national targets after her district was significantly redrawn. In Virginia’s 10th District, Republican Hung Cao conceded to Democrat Jennifer Wexton. In the third big race, Republican Jen Kiggans sought to knock off Democrat Elaine Luria in Virginia Beach.
