WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats in the House say that paid family and medical leave will be placed back into their $1.75 trillion social services and environmental bill. They are rushing to finish up the overall package Wednesday after dismal election night results. The family leave program is expected to include four weeks of paid time off for people to recover from major illness, childbirth or to care for family members, according to people familiar with the legislation who requested anonymity to discuss it. Democrats have also agreed on a provision lowering drug costs for older Americans, with a $2,000 out-of-pocket cap and lower insulin prices.
