WASHINGTON (AP) — Policymakers in Washington are focusing closely on consolidation in agriculture and the dominance of major companies, and its impact on small-scale farmers and ranchers. It was a key theme in President Joe Biden’s executive order issued this summer on competition in U.S. industries. Rob Larew is president of the National Farmers Union, an organization that advocates for family farmers and rural communities. The Associated Press recently interviewed Larew about problems in agricultural markets and possible solutions.
