4 wounded in shooting at Missouri shopping mall near Kansas City; 3 suspects in custody

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say four people have been wounded in a shooting at a shopping mall in Missouri near Kansas City. Independence police Officer Jack Taylor said shots erupted around 2:20 p.m. Friday in the main entrance of the Independence Center. One victim was hit in the head and was in critical condition. He didn’t know the conditions of the other three. Three people fled in a vehicle and were taken into custody near the mall. The cause of the shooting wasn’t immediately known, but Taylor said a conflict arose when two groups met up. He didn’t know if they knew each other.
