KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Drew Waters drove in the go-ahead run during a two-out rally in the eighth inning, and the Kansas City Royals rallied to beat the Cleveland Guardians 6-4 in their series-opening matinee on Monday. The rally came against Guardians reliever Trevor Stephan, who had all sorts of trouble with walks and a hit batter in the inning. He fell to 6-7 with the loss. Jackson Kowar earned his second win of the season in relief for Kansas City. James McArthur handled the ninth for his first save.
