KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Kyle Larson gave Rick Hendrick his 299th win in the NASCAR Cup Series last week at Darlington. Now that he’s locked into the next round of the playoffs, perhaps teammate Will Byron can give his owner No. 300 on Sunday at Kansas Speedway. That would send him through to the round of 12 before next week’s cutoff at Bristol. He will have to come from the back after he broke a suspension piece in practice. Byron is in good position regardless, leading the playoff points race after his fourth-place run at Darlington. Christopher Bell will start on the pole and Larson is the favorite to win at Kansas.
