WAYNESVILLE, Mo. (AP) — Two southwest Missouri woman are charged with second-degree murder after police say a 5-year-old girl was found dead in their home. Waynesville police said in a news release that officers were notified Tuesday after a student told a school resource officer that he had seen his sibling unconscious at their Waynesville home that morning. Authorities found the child dead at the home. The Pulaski County Prosecutor’s Office said Angela West and Shamira Buford are being held without bond on charges in the girl’s death. Court documents say the women said they sometimes tied the girl up so she would not move around and steal food.
