KMIZ

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Prosecutors say a nonprofit organization that provides services for foster c children and youth with special needs in Missouri will pay a $1.8 million fine for overbilling the federal government. Federal and Missouri officials announced Friday that Great Circle, based in Webster Groves, also agreed to several compliance orders after admitting it falsely claimed it was providing enhanced supervision to young people at its residential treatment facility. The organization will be able to continue operating. The agreement and fine came after a multi-year investigation. The government agreed not to criminally prosecute Great Circle because it cooperated with the investigation and to avoid jeopardizing the services it provides.
