JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Top Republican lawmakers say making it harder to amend Missouri’s Constitution is a top priority in this year’s legislative session. Lawmakers return to the Capitol on Wednesday for their annual session. Leaders in the GOP-led House and Senate say raising the bar to change the state Constitution is a main goal. Republicans are not unified over whether to make it harder to put issues to a public vote or raise the percentage of votes needed to amend the Constitution. Other top priorities include expanding Medicaid coverage for new mothers, sports betting and education policy.
