Shooting kills one man, injures another in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — One man died and another man was injured after a shooting in Springfield Saturday morning. Springfield Police said the shooting was reported shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 2400 block of East Commercial Street. Police said 30-year-old Johnny Hipol died at the scene and another man was taken to a hospital where he was treated and released. Investigators have identified a suspect in the shooting but no arrests had been made as of Saturday evening. The shooting was the fourth homicide of the year in Springfield.
