Seven overdose deaths in two-block area of St. Louis

The public safety director in St. Louis on Monday issued a warning about a dangerous batch of what is suspected to be fentanyl after a seventh person in the same area of the city died of an apparent overdose. First responders were called to the 4400 block of Forest Park Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Monday. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a man died a short time later. On Saturday, six people died and two others survived suspected overdoses in the 4300 and 4400 blocks of Forest Park Avenue. Interim Public Safety Director Dan Isom says federal agents and police are trying to determine the origin of the drugs.
