Man sentenced in fatal hit-and-run in Columbia in 2019

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — A Harrisburg man has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison for a fatal hit-and-run. Charles Waddill was sentenced Tuesday in the June 2019 death of 51-year-old Timothy Wilson, who was hit as he walked in Columbia. Waddill then left the scene. Waddill pleaded guilty in September to involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and tampering with physical evidence. Court documents said Waddill contacted Columbia police after the crash and said he was in the area at the time the hit-and-run occurred. The vehicle seen at the crash was later found at Waddill’s home.
