Woman dies in hit-and-run accident in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The accident happened about 8 p.m. Friday in north St. Louis. Police say the woman was struck near the intersection of West Florissant and Thrush avenues in the Walnut Park East neighborhood. The driver fled and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was not immediately released.
