Police: 9-year-old boy is shot in St. Louis neighborhood

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Authorities say a 9-year-old boy was shot in the back in north St. Louis. Police say a 20-year-old shot into a home, striking the boy, on Friday after an argument with his girlfriend. The man fled and the boy was rushed to a hospital. Police did not have an update on his condition Saturday morning but said his vitals were stable. KSDK reports that its data shows that at least 97 children under the age of 17 have been shot in St. Louis this year.
