Springfield police ID 2 drivers killed in weekend crash

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Police in Springfield have identified two drivers killed in a crash over the weekend at a city intersection. Police say in a news release that the crash happened late Saturday afternoon at National and Monclair streets when a car driven by 79-year-old Gerald Douglas, of Ozark, stopped at a red light and was rear-ended by another car, driven by 35-year-old Sarah Kittrell, of Nixa. Police say Douglas and Kittrell were the drivers and sole occupants of both cars. Both were taken to local hospitals, where they died from their injuries.
