St. Louis police called to several shootings — some deadly

KMIZ

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police in St. Louis were called to several shooting scenes Sunday, including at least two deadly ones. Police were called to the Fountain Park neighborhood around 9 p.m. Sunday, where officers found 33-year-old Maurice Wilbert shot in the back and shoulder. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. Just before 8 p.m. Sunday, homicide detectives were called to an area downtown and found a man in his 30s fatally wounded. That victim’s name was not immediately released. That call came hours after another call downtown in which two 14-year-olds were shot at a loft party. Both teens are expected to recover, and one of them — a boy suspected of pulling the gun at the party — was arrested.
