Police officers, drug suspects wounded in Kansas shootout
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Police in Kansas City, Kansas, say multiple officers and suspects have been wounded in a shootout during an undercover fentanyl trafficking investigation. Authorities says three officers were shot Wednesday along with three alleged targets of the sting. All are expected to survive. Police Chief Karl Oakman says undercover officers were trying to buy fentanyl from the suspects. But the deal fell through, and the gunbattle broke out. The three officers who were shot were in uniform and had arrived to help their undercover colleagues. Oakman says police believe all the suspects in the drug deal are in custody.
