Police identify man killed by car at Kansas Walmart

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Police say a man killed when a vehicle hit two pedestrians and then a Walmart was an 82-year-old man from Kansas City, Kansas. Lawrence Walford died when he was struck by the vehicle Thursday outside a Walmart in the Legends Outlet shopping area in Kansas City, Kansas. Police spokeswoman Nancy Chartrand says another pedestrian who was hit has been released from the hospital. The 56-year-old driver remains hospitalized in critical condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation but Chartrand said there is no indication it was intentional and the driver might have suffered a medical emergency before the collision.
