Columbia Walk to End Alzheimer’s raises over $200,000
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Hundreds of Columbia residents showed their support today and raised over $210,000 dollars for the fight against alzheimer's.
More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. About 2,600 residents in Boone County are living with the disease, along with 1,400 in Cole County and 300 in Osage County. Data released at the recent Alzheimer’s association international conference shows consistent rates of prevalence for Alzheimer's in those 65 and older across Boone (10.5 percent/2,600 individuals) Cole (10.6 percent/1,400 individuals), and Osage (10.7 percent/300 individuals) counties.

Join ABC 17 News at the Jefferson City Walk to End Alzheimer's on Oct. 15 at Memorial Park. Last year, the Jefferson City Walk broke its all-time record and raised nearly $134,000. This year, the walk has a goal of raising $140,000.
