COLUMBIA, Mo.  (KMIZ)

Columbia’s public hearing on Flock cameras is expected to be held Monday, Nov. 9, according to city documents.

The City Council’s agenda for Monday shows the council is voting on holding the public hearing. A first read was held last month. The measure is listed on the consent agenda.

The Flock camera system was first approved in October 2024. In August, Pulaski County terminated its contract with Flock after holding a community forum to receive feedback on Flock. Jefferson City renewed its own agreement in August.

This hearing comes as more communities nationwide have been ending their contracts with Flock over concerns of its use. U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced a bill last month targeting the technology.
