Man seriously hurt in Pulaski County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 25-year-old Dixon man was seriously hurt during a crash in Pulaski County just after 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the man was driving a 2018 Lincoln MKZ on Highway 28 at Hawk Dr. heading west when he fell asleep at the wheel.

The man traveled off the left side of the road and hit an embankment. The car became airborne and overturned before hitting a fence and a flagpole.

The man suffered serious injuries and was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

The car was totaled. The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
