Tracking an active pattern through next week

TODAY: Enjoy the sunshine today, we have more rain on the way! We're in the upper 70s thanks to sunshine and south winds.

TONIGHT: Clouds increase this evening, but likely not becoming overcast until after midnight for many. Clouds increase in the north first, as showers and weak thunderstorms bring rain in behind a cold front. Temperatures remain warm through sunrise, as we start Friday in the 50s.

EXTENDED: The front will linger overhead through the day, keeping rain chances all day on Friday, and a range of temperatures from 50s to 60s north to south. A drier day is expected Saturday, but scattered storms are still possible as the front lifts back north. Temperatures return to the 70s Saturday and Sunday. Showers return Sunday. Monday through Tuesday will be warmer, with temperatures trying to reach the 80s in the warm sector of an approaching low. Exactly how the low evolves remains a bit of a question. The presence of some severe ingredients has us raising our eyebrows at the possibility of severe weather, but it's still unclear if we'll have a likelihood of strong storms on Monday or Tuesday. Storms are possible Monday through Wednesday of next week, as the pattern appears active at least.
