Tracking a warm and windy start to the week
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and pleasant with lows in the lower 40s. Patchy fog possible by daybreak.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and mild with highs in the upper 60s.
EXTENDED: It was a soggy start to the weekend with most areas around Mid-Missouri picking up 0.5" to 1" of rain on Saturday, with gorgeous weather as a reward on Sunday as highs got into the upper 50s and low 60s. Next week starts off even more mild with patchy fog developing tonight as warmer air moves into the region. An upper level ridge moves right over the region, allowing strong south/southwest winds to ramp up to nearly 30 mph between Tuesday and Thursday. Fire weather conditions will be possible mid-week with low relative humidity, warm temperatures, and those strong winds. High temperatures both Monday and Tuesday are expected to range from the upper 60s to near 70. Despite much stronger winds on Tuesday, widespread clouds will likely keep us near the 70 degree mark. A weather system will move from the Central Plains to our north on Wednesday, bringing the potential of a few spotty showers to northern Missouri early in the day. Following that disturbance, temperatures could reach near record highs as we climb into the lower 70s. Another front arrives between Thursday and Thursday night, with a chance of showers and a few storms. This will cool us significantly by Friday as we drop back into the upper 40s behind the front.
