MU Athletics makes adjustments to Mizzou Arena seating, following outcry from students

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Students spoke and Mizzou Athletics listened.

Following a social media outcry over the new configuration of the student section out at Mizzou Arena, Tiger Athletics announced that it made some changes, ahead of Monday's women's basketball opener.

You might remember that in the weeks leading up to the season, Athletic Director Laird Veatch and his staff announced that there will be more courtside seating for the 2025-26 season to generate revenue. In order to accommodate those extra seats, though, Mizzou originally decided to push back the student section a few rows, which put fans further from the visiting bench.

That decision was followed up by a social media storm. Fans voiced their concerns and Veatch took them in to account.

On Monday, Mizzou debuted a new look to the student section, which will now just sit one row higher than it did in the previous season. You can find an updated picture below.
