Man killed in crash with freightliner in Mexico

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man is dead after a crash with a tractor-trailer in Audrain County Tuesday night, according to a press release from the Mexico Public Safety Department.

The release states a 34-year-old Centralia man was driving a 2006 Ford passenger car east in the 1500 block of W. Monroe St. around 10:30 p.m., when he crossed the centerline and hit a 1999 Freightliner with a trailer full of soybean meal, driven by a 72-year-old Mexico man.

The Centralia man died on the scene. The Mexico man was uninjured, according to the release.

The crash is under investigation.
