Elderly woman seriously injured in Phelps County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 74-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Wednesday crash on Route P in Phelps County, about four miles southwest of Newburg, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The report states that the woman – from Duke, Missouri – was driving a 2006 Dodge Ram westbound when it went off the right side of the road and hit a highway sign. The driver overcorrected, crossed over the roadway, overcorrected again and the truck overturned, the report says.

The woman was wearing a seatbelt, the report says. She was flown to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, according to the report.

The truck was totaled.
