According to a probable cause statement, Columbia Police were called to the intersection of Abbotsburry Lane and Rivington Drive in Columbia on Jan. 12 for a suicidal person.

Boone County Joint Communications said they received a call about a man in a black Dodge Charger who was slumped over in the vehicle. An attempt to wake Richardson up was attempted but he did not wake up, court documents say.

Dispatchers said they received calls of a black Dodge Charger driving erratically on Route K near South Nursery Road. The dodge Richardson was in matched the description of the vehicle in the DWI call, according to the probable cause statement.

Police found the dodge at the dead end of Rivington Drive and Richardson in a tree line and detained him.

A loaded 9mm gun with one bullet in the chamber, along with marijuana vape pens were found near Richardson, court documents say.

A report of shots fired was reported before police arrived. Richardson allegedly told police he shot at the ground when he slipped in the snow.

Court documents say Richardson was observed struggling to walk and officers found an empty bottle of whiskey in the passenger seat, as well a a baggie that contained marijuana. Police also found pills scattered on the driver side floorboard, according to court documents.

Court documents say Richardson admitted to smoking marijuana later at the hospital and said he would drink a "glass or two" of whiskey daily. An officer allegedly could smell intoxicants on his breath.

According to documents, Richardson's wife told police at the hospital that he had taken a Tylenol PM pill before receiving a work call. Documents say his wife told police he then left home in the black dodge charger but said she did not remember him drinking alcohol at the home before he left.

He was not listed on the Boone County jail roster Saturday night.
