Armored rescue vehicle used to arrest man in Moberly

The City of Moberly's armored rescue vehicle was deployed to arrest a man in Moberly on Thursday, according to a press release from the Moberly Police Department.

According to the release, around 12 p.m. on Thursday, the Monroe County Sheriff's Department requested the use of the vehicle to help arrest a man who had multiple felony warrants. The release states the man may have been armed.

The suspect was parked in a field near a tree line, according to the release.

Police officers from the Moberly Police Department and the Randolph County Sheriff's Department responded to the incident.

A drone was utilized to find the suspect's vehicle, which was located a quarter mile off the county road, the release says. The armored vehicle was used to approach suspect's vehicle and keep him from leaving.

Negotiators from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Monroe County Sheriff's Department established communication with the suspect, according to the release.

"Eventually, less lethal munitions were used to safely arrest the suspect," the release says.

The release says the man received minor injuries and was evaluated at a hospital.

The name of the suspect is not included in the release.
