Ameren crews restore power in northern Boone County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

More than 300 Ameren Missouri customers briefly lost power Monday afternoon with wind chills in the single digits.

Ameren Missouri's outage map showed 363 customers in the Hallsville and Centralia areas without power early Monday afternoon. The outage was no longer listed by about 12:40 p.m.

The National Weather Service monitoring station at Columbia Regional Airport recorded a temperature of 24 degrees and a wind chill of 6 degrees just before noon.

Other areas of Mid-Missouri remained mostly free of outages.

A winter storm that began Saturday and continued into Sunday night dumped several inches of ice and snow on Mid-Missouri, with accumulation amounts variable. The Columbia Regional Airport recorded 5.6 inches of snow over the weekend.
