Middle East latest: Israeli soldiers burn a hospital in Gaza

Gaza’s Health Ministry says Israeli soldiers stormed and burned a hospital after forcibly removing staff and patients. The Israeli military said Friday the hospital in northern Gaza was being used by Hamas fighters as a base, although it did not provide evidence. Last week, the medical aid group Doctors Without Borders accused Israel of systematically attacking Gaza’s healthcare system. Early Saturday, Israel said it intercepted a missile fired by Houthi rebels in Yemen, following a wave of deadly Israeli airstrikes that hit key infrastructure in Yemen. The Houthis have also been attacking shipping in the Red Sea corridor — attacks they say won’t stop until Israel agrees to a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
