What to know about the death of a woman who was set on fire in a New York City subway train
NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police have arrested a man on murder and arson charges in the death of a woman who was set on fire inside a subway train Sunday. Sebastian Zapeta, 33, was arrested Monday after being taken into custody the prior day. It is unclear if Zapeta has an attorney and when he would be arraigned. Police say surveillance video shows a man calmly approach the woman, who has yet to be identified, aboard a stationary train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station in Brooklyn and then set her on fire. New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the case as “one of the most depraved crimes one person could possibly commit against another human being.”
