One southbound lane of Highway 63 in Columbia to close Tuesday for repairs

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A portion of the passing southbound lane of Highway 63 in Columbia will be closed from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Monday press release from the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Crews will fill a pothole in the work zone near Broadway, the release says.

Traffic is currently shifted in the area for the Improve I-70 Project, which includes redesigning the Interstate 70/Highway 63 interchange.

Rebuilding the interchange is part of a broader project to widen Interstate 70 through much of the state, starting with the stretch between Kingdom City and Columbia. The full project is budgeted at $2.8 billion and will improve about 200 miles of interstate.
